These are a simple, no-bake easy Halloween dessert! Quinn loves to help me in the kitchen, so this was a perfect “baking” activity for her to really get involved with. We had a blast making these together, with Halloween music playing in the background.
Ingredients:
- 1 – 14oz package of Oreos
- 8oz cream cheese (at room temp)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups white chocolate chips
- black decorating icing
Directions:
- crush cookies in a food processor or blender
- mix together the crushed cookies, cream cheese, and vanilla extract
- shape into balls (I suggest using a cookie dough scoop if you want them all the same size)
- freeze until slightly hard (about 15 minutes)
- melt the white chocolate chips
- dip the cookie balls into the melted chocolate until covered
- freeze again until the chocolate fully hardens (at least 5 minutes)
- use the black decorating icing to make the eyes and mouth
- enjoy!
- store leftovers in the fridge
Tips:
- If melting the white chips in the microwave, use the defrost setting. Initially 30 seconds, stir, then 15 second intervals, stirring in between. Continue doing this until fully melted.
- Don’t take the cookie balls out of the freezer until completely ready with the chocolate. If they defrost, it becomes much more difficult to dip in the chocolate.
- Use toothpicks to help dip.
- Use a nonstick baking sheet instead of a plate, so they don’t stick.
- Use a thin spatula to remove them.
