Ghost Oreo Cookie Truffles

These are a simple, no-bake easy Halloween dessert! Quinn loves to help me in the kitchen, so this was a perfect “baking” activity for her to really get involved with. We had a blast making these together, with Halloween music playing in the background.

Ingredients:

  • 1 – 14oz package of Oreos
  • 8oz cream cheese (at room temp)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups white chocolate chips
  • black decorating icing

Directions:

  • crush cookies in a food processor or blender
  • mix together the crushed cookies, cream cheese, and vanilla extract
  • shape into balls (I suggest using a cookie dough scoop if you want them all the same size)
  • freeze until slightly hard (about 15 minutes)
  • melt the white chocolate chips
  • dip the cookie balls into the melted chocolate until covered
  • freeze again until the chocolate fully hardens (at least 5 minutes)
  • use the black decorating icing to make the eyes and mouth
  • enjoy!
  • store leftovers in the fridge

Tips:

  • If melting the white chips in the microwave, use the defrost setting. Initially 30 seconds, stir, then 15 second intervals, stirring in between. Continue doing this until fully melted.
  • Don’t take the cookie balls out of the freezer until completely ready with the chocolate. If they defrost, it becomes much more difficult to dip in the chocolate.
  • Use toothpicks to help dip.
  • Use a nonstick baking sheet instead of a plate, so they don’t stick.
  • Use a thin spatula to remove them.
